It’s time to pack your duffel bag and return to the pines! Come jump in Trickey Pond, hit a ball over the Fred Pierce fence (or at least try), pull the Tug O’ War rope with all your might, relax with old and new friends at “…a place we all know…”
The 75th Anniversary Weekend is a relaxed and “unplugged” mini vacation in Maine, with incredible people, amazing food, spectacular sunsets and Skylemar fun! Here’s the plan:
“Campers” (that’s you) arrive anytime on Friday afternoon or evening. The Welcome Party kicks off at 7:00 PM, with appetizers, beer and wine. After a good night’s rest on a “comfy” camp bed, waken to Reveille, “The Morning Show,” Flag Raising and a delicious hot breakfast. Then it’s on to a jam-packed schedule of activities on land and water.
At the lake you can slide The Beast, climb the Iceberg, fly off the Rope Swing or jump off the classic Pontoon. Take out a sailboat, stand-up paddle board, kayak or canoe. Give skiing, tubing or wake surfing a try. Swim some laps, grab a fishing rod or simply relax on the docks.
On land, there’s basketball, street hockey, tennis, softball, volleyball, archery and all the sports you remember. Plus there’s the climbing wall, zipline and “Giant Swing” for a challenge. Hot weather means the Sky Slide comes out, and of course there will be ping pong, bocce and Herb’s Garden to enjoy.
Not to be missed is Bruce Finkelstein’s production of “Retrospect” with a tribute to Lee and Herb. We’ll have Banquet Night, Waterfront Ceremony, memorabilia and lots of camaraderie. Lazy Man’s Sunday includes Sky Brunch and plenty of casual “Free Play.” Photos, banquet books and other keepsakes will be on display all weekend.
Campers are welcome to stay in Skylemar cabins (bunkmates by request) or arrange off-site accommodations. The fee for the weekend is $400 per person, which includes plenty to eat and drink, bedding, towels, souvenir t-shirt, the chance to win prizes and ice packs for those who play too hard. There’s no charge for anyone over the age of 75 or children under the age of 15.

With our family numbering over 5,000 strong, warm memories of the past six Skylemar decades will always linger. It was great to celebrate with those who were able to visit.
When Skylemar sings, “We Welcome You To Skylemar,” we mean it! Campers of today love when Skylemar alum visit, so please come anytime. Alum tend to congregate on the “official” in-season Alumni Day of Friday, the Friday before Visiting Day (third Friday of the season), but any day is fine. Join us for lunch, take a dip in Trickey Pond, and yes, you can try once again to hit the ball over the Fred Pierce fence. You’ll find that a few things have changed, but much is the same. Skylemar is still summer home to the greatest collection of guys in the whole world.
Let’s keep the Skylemar family connected. Please…
Confirm that we have your current contact information in the Alumni Guestbook of this website. Please also forward contact info for others, since many have moved over the years, to email@example.com.
Help a boy attend Skylemar by supporting the Camp Skylemar Scholarship Fund. Since the tax-deductible fund was established, a Skylemar experience has become possible for many, thanks to the generosity of those connected to Skylemar.
We are grateful for every Skylemar alum… for sharing your sons, for spreading the good Skylemar word, for your positive energy, for your scholarship support, for your friendship. Thank you for helping us to achieve our goal: making a positive difference in the world, one boy at a time.
