Slosh, gush, gurgle. It was a soaked-to-the-bones day here. The rain came in the early morning hours and didn’t quit the entire day.
Activities were all inside, between the Lodge, Gym and Rec Hall. The Lodge is filled with table games like pool, foosball and ping pong. “Cory Games” (like Sprout Ball, Sharks & Minnows and Dodge Ball) were super fun in the Gym. There was time to relax in the cabin too, with board games, books and letter writing.
Skypotle for lunch. Make-your-own burritos is definitely a favorite and was really appreciated in the gloomy weather. The rain kept coming, so inside we stayed. “The Bestest”, a really funny once-a-year game was a great time. That’s when the leader announces a topic, and your group has to come up with the “bestest” demonstration. For example, each cabin had to present their bestest Fortnite dance, World Cup celebration and freestyle group dance.
Meanwhile…the craziest thing happened. While the kids were playing at Sky II, a team of entertainment engineers magically transformed the Rec Hall into one of America’s finest gambling casinos.
IT’S THE GRAND RE-OPENING OF SADE’S PALACE!
You’ve probably heard about this one-of-a-kind establishment, which outshines anything Vegas has to offer. A free wad of cash is given to all who enter, and the house never wins! Slots, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette. Bingo, Poker, Horse Races and Wheels of Fortune. Sade’s always includes an all-you-can eat dinner buffet, as well as the top acts. Tonight’s 7pm show featured the Skytations, known for their smooth dancing and fabulous rendition of “My Girl”.
Sade’s is the place to be and be seen. Celebrity sightings included Shrek and Fiona, the cast of Moana, Mario and Peach, Rocky, Jordan Spieth, Jack Black, Marty McFly and Doc Brown. Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz came as well (and so did others who stopped by Suzie’s costume room first).
Lucky Will A from Bunk 2 won the raffle prize, which gave him a couple extra hundred dollars. Tax free!
Once all pockets were bulging with cold, hard Skycash, Buck’s Bank opened for business. There the big winners bought blow up balls, fuzzy dice, basketball hoops and hundreds of other trinkets.
Wish you could see the Palace in full swing. Sorry, but that’s a no-can-do. Rules are rules: You must be under 21 to enter.
