We were hot!
So hot that….
….we won the STB Tourney!
...we won 15U hockey!
… lots of guys got up waterskiing for the very first time!
… the talent in our Talent Show was truly outstanding!
Temps in the 90’s meant perfect conditions for Skylemar’s U10 Steal the Bacon (STB) Tourney. Several nearby camps came, and the competition was tough. 41 Skylemar “Bacon Bits” took the game very seriously, while the entire camp watched. There’s something about taking off your shirt in this game that makes you faster and stronger, so the legend goes. First tournament trophy of the year goes to home team Skylemar! MVP was Zay-Zay, who didn’t lose a single point!
Also proud to share that we won U15 Hockey, 6-1 in the first game and 8-2 in the second. JC’s Jake G and Izzy each had a hat trick. Ethan V was stupendous in the goal. Other standouts were Jack Q, Zach F, Tyler M, Aidan P and Justin I.
Plenty of winners on the stage for this evening’s Talent Show. The camp gathered in front of the Rec Hall, and had a fantastic time watching a variety of acts. It takes a lot of courage to perform, especially for Jake Scrbr of Bunk 5 who went first. He did a fantastic job on the piano. Reid K and Noah C also played the piano beautifully.
Cosme and Jacob R did hockey tricks. Jared R sang an Imagine Dragons song. Trystan astounded us with his beatboxing. Really amazing!
Sam M (#11) juggled the diabolo and then Harry H played the clarinet. Spencer M (#1)and Jared F (#2) showed their soccer skills. Jake Sigl (#5) was a part of a comedy act. Aidan K and Dion performed with an arm slinky. Cousins Ethan and Leo were really funny with their mime act.
Jordan B dazzled us with his magic tricks. Isaac G and Jack P were convincing as mind readers too. There’s never a shortage of hands in the air when a magician asks for a volunteer from the audience.
It was a happy time watching bunkmates Tyler W (#9) and Mason M do some Fortnite dances. Ari M and Rosey were super impressive on the guitar.
But the one who blew us away with his talent was Tre. His dancing was out of this world!
Sure, it takes courage, but there could never be a more supportive and respectful audience anywhere. When someone performs the crowd is silent, and when the act’s over there’s wild clapping and cheering.
Once again, we're proud, and know you are too.
