Faster than a speeding bullet. Stronger than a locomotive. Able to squash a bug with her bare hands.
It takes a special kind of woman to work at an all-boys camp. She must be strong, confident, savvy and wise. She has to be compassionate, responsible, creative and fun. And…she needs to be ok with burps and gas and stinky socks.
The corporate world calls them “soft skills”. Well, she’s got ‘em. The psychologists refer to it as “emotional intelligence”. Yup, she’s got that too.
She’s literally a “go-getter”, as in getting him to a doctor’s appointment even though he’s on a zip line at the moment.
She’s able to juggle a dozen plates, plus the cups and silverware too ... and never tires, from dawn to dusk. She makes lemonade out of lemons (enough for 350) and can plan a huge party with just an hour’s notice.
By “day” she teaches tennis, volleyball, swimming, drama, golf or art. She directs outdoor education, photography or manages the waterfront. She provides healthcare, administrative order, entertainment or delicious food.
Most importantly, it’s the round-the-clock love she gives and the guidance she provides. To say it quite simply: Sky ladies are the best. Beautiful inside and out. How lucky we are to have 29 of the greatest in the world on the Skylemar staff.
To Holly, Sara, Emily, Luci. Norma, Leslie, Calla, Cory, Suzie, Diane and Hannah. Shannon, Paige, Michelle, Marge. Marley, Baylee, Maddie, Steph. Kayla, Riley, Kierra and Emma. Afoof, Kaitlyn, Ami, Kelli, Jan and Beth.
We thank you. You are our shining stars, who make the Skylemar world a much better place.
Heard this today…
“Love you, Cory”, said Jake F.
“Love you too”, she replied.
Only at Skylemar.
