This blog is dedicated to the most wonderful people in the world: Skylemar grandparents. Near, far or above in heaven, we adore you.
Mimi, Nana, Mom-Mom, Nanny, G-ma. Poppy, Tata, G-Pa, Pops, Papa B. We call you by assorted names, but the meaning is the same. You’re our hero, our cheerleader, our protector and our friend.
Time with us is the greatest gift you give, and we’re happy to receive. Together we cuddle on your sofa, watch movies, play Scrabble or Chutes & Ladders. Cards are our favorite, and appreciate you preparing us for Sade’s Palace with Blackjack tips and the rules of Gin Rummy.
Talking sports with Grandpa is the greatest, and you always teach something new. When you make it to our games, shows and recitals, we feel special. If you can make your way to Camp Skylemar, it’s an extra terrific day.
The food always tastes better at your house, or at your favorite restaurant. It’s fun to find the cookies in your jar, or the chocolates in your drawer. Thanks for pretending that you never knew we snuck one.
We know you’ll always listen, and you’re the ones we call to brag or boast. You’re as proud of us as we are of you. As we grow older, we realize your wisdom and intellect.
To those who have passed, we’re grateful that you’re watching. Your strength is with us, and our hope is to be the one who does for others, just like you.
So, dear Abuelo, Grampy, YaYa and Bubbie; MeeMaw, HaHa, Meme and Ga. We thank you and we love you. Each of us at Skylemar couldn’t be here without you.
